For Immediate Release:

ALBERTA - Ryan Vestby, CEO of managed IT services and technology consulting firm CompuVision (acquired by VC3 in 2022), has joined the Business Council of Alberta. The Council seeks to meet and solve the challenges facing Alberta by bringing together business leaders to focus on long-term social and economic prosperity.  Vestby, who appears in The Business Council of Alberta’s video on Twitter,  brings an informed perspective on the future of technology to the conversation.

Vestby joins influential leaders from across Canada, including Tom Lassu, President of Ledcor Industries, Dave Filipchuk, President & CEO of PCL Constructors Inc., and Chairman of WestJet, Christopher Burley, among many others.

“I am so honored to be a part of BCA and to join the amazing, talented leaders here,” says Vestby.  “It is both inspiring and humbling to work with leaders who are not only at the top of their industries and fields but who want to use their knowledge and influence to make life better for Albertans now and into the future.”

BCA’s Goals

“BCA focuses on three key pillars,” says BCA President Adam Legge. “Policy, Advocacy, and Action. We do deep policy work on the issues of importance from a prosperity standpoint for Albertans. We advocate for those policies with the provincial and federal government. But what makes us unique is we also take action as a business community by asking, “what role can business play in creating better lives for people in Alberta?” And then taking action on those initiatives.”

“It made perfect sense to invite Ryan Vestby and CompuVision, a VC3 Company, to join the Council, in part because of the critical role that innovation and technology-focused companies must play in creating the future of our province,” said Legge.

BCA has created a framework for shared and sustainable prosperity called AlbertaBETTER. This framework was created in response to recent challenges that Alberta has faced. A poll by Janet Brown Opinion Research showed that only 49% of Albertans agree that when business does well, they do well. Research also shows that a strong majority feel that companies should take steps to improve both economic and social conditions.

AlbertaBETTER’s framework helps guide the Council’s initiatives with three themes that include a focus on doing what’s right for the community as a whole. Environment, society, innovation, and good governance will be considered in each step the Council takes. BCA also seeks to attract investors and develop more opportunities for people through job creation and innovation. Through these themes, BCA seeks to provide a better present for Albertans and also a better future.

CompuVision’s Dedication to the Future of Alberta

CompuVision, throughout its decades of operation, has not only focused on providing innovative managed IT services but also on contributing to the success and well-being of their community.

“I believe a good company understands that you have to support the community that supports you,” says Vestby. “This is why the works and initiatives of BCA are so important to the CompuVision team and me personally. Joining the Council makes me excited, proud, and, most importantly, hopeful for our future.”
