IT Expertise Helps California Manufacturer Grow
A Los Angeles Manufacturer's IT Support Results
Seachrome started their customer journey working with Accent Computer Solutions in 2012. They are now being supported by VC3 since the acquisition of Accent in 2022.
One-Person IT Can't Handle Everything
“The biggest problem when you have in-house IT service is the fact that there’s only one person,” said Chris. “If you’ve got five or six major life-threatening problems going on at the same time, there’s no way that person can handle all of it at once, like a team such as VC3 can.”
24/7 Availability Means Peace of Mind
With more than 30 employees using workstations, laptops, cell phones, plus manufacturing equipment connected to their network, a blip in their technology could shut down operations at Seachrome in a hurry. Chris gets peace of mind knowing that a VC3 technician is available 24/7 if needed, but he no longer describes the computer issues they face as life-threatening.
“Most of the problems that we have are relatively minor,” said Chris. “VC3 is in front of the problem and we’re fixing it before it even becomes a problem.”
Getting a Technology View of the Future
The proactive approach to technology helps Seachrome manage its growth. In quarterly meetings with their VC3 Strategic Advisor, they discuss the company’s goals and objectives. As VC3 makes recommendations about how they can use technology to move forward, they act more as a business partner than an IT service.
Getting a view of the future from the technology perspective helps Chris tremendously in his decision-making process.
“When we have that conversation with the VC3 manager, they’ll recognize what might be an advantage and what might be a problem,” said Chris. “We’ll talk through this and make sure we’re prepared for it. So, in many ways, they anticipate problems we can’t foresee.”
VC3 Coordinated a Seamless Move
One thing that would have been hard for Chris to foresee was all the complexity involved with their computer systems when they moved to a new location. VC3 coordinated everything over a 30-day period, resulting in a smooth transition. According to Chris, if you are even thinking about making a major facility move without a team like VC3 to help, you’re asking for a big headache.
“We didn’t have to worry about something being missed, forgotten, or otherwise. It was absolutely seamless,” he said.
Plans for Growth With IT Guidance and Support
The future looks good for Seachrome as they continue to expand in the commercial construction market. Chris wants to take the company up to the next level, and then another one after that. He’s glad to know that VC3 can take that in stride, giving them the daily IT support they want, with the IT guidance they need.
“Our growth prospects are pretty good over the next few years as long as the economy stays strong,” said Chris. “We should do quite well, and I know having VC3 along for the ride is going to eliminate all of those headaches and problems that we can’t even anticipate on the IT side.”
